if you want to catch a lot of rain, put out a lot of teacups...
If you want to make some text into a hyperlink (so that clicking on it will take the person clicking to another place on the web), well, here's how you do it.
Start writing your post. Make sure you see the editing toolbar that looks like this above where you are typing:
Write the text you want to hyperlink. For example:
Click me to be taken to the donation page!
Highlight it so it looks like this:
Then click the little Link button in the editing toolbar that looks like this:
A box will open that looks like this (only with your highlighted text at the top):
Leaving this page open, find the URL that you want the link to go to. In my case, I want the donation page's URL which is "http://5forfairness.org/notes/Donate". I copy it into the Link box, making sure that the http:// isn't in there twice. So now my Add Link box looks like this:
See how we have the original text in the Link box and the URL (where you want people to be sent if they click on your highlighted text) in both boxes?
Now click OK and your highlighted text will magically look like this:
Click me to be taken to the donation page!
and you will have created your first - ta da! - hyperlink.
