WE DID IT!
After a truly exciting day of voting - the competition between our two leading teams narrowed to THREE votes at one point - 5fers have spoken and we are sending our first $5000 grant to the Panzi Hospital/HHI!
I want to take this first moment to thank our amazing Team leaders. (Cue the drumroll, please!)

Mary captained the Panzi Hospital/HHI Team and, along with Alejandra from the MOSTE Team, did an absolutely unbelievable job of bringing new members into 5 for Fairness - new members were joining and voting right up the witching hour of 7PM PST when our poll closed.
To all our new members, welcome.
To all our Founding members (that means you!), thank you. In banding together in this online community, pooling our resources, advocating for Teams that foster fairness for girls and voting to determine where our first grant will go, we all just did something that, as far as I know, has never been done before. I so appreciate your willingness to take a chance on a brand new venture, your patience and good-will in the face of the inevitable kinks in the system, and, most of all, for joining hands and heading out on the long march to fairness.
