Information

Girls in low-income communities are filled with incredible determination, charisma, and passion, but their futures are limited. Camp VOICE aims to improve the livelihood opportunities for girls from low-income communities by addressing common challenges girls face with regards to education and employment through a 4-week summer camp for girls run in affordable private schools (APS) throughout Hyderabad, India. Camp VOICE blends learning with doing through an interactive program focused on communicative English and gender empowerment.

Currently, limited forums exists where girls can explore what it means to be a good Indian daughter while also fulfilling their potential. Instead, girls are sold short by culturally prescribed gender roles putting them at risk for child marriage, early pregnancy, and a lifetime of dependency on men that perpetuates generational poverty. These girls are worth fighting for. Join us in the fight!
