Our Mission
5 for Fairness is an online community dedicated to making the world fair for girls. We believe that girls deserve to share fully in the best humanity has to offer: education, human rights and the opportunity to live healthy, productive and meaningful lives. We give $5000 grants to organizations we believe are helping to tilt the world toward fairness.

How We Work
When our members join, they donate a minimum of $5 to our Grant Account.When that account reaches $5000, members propose, evaluate and vote to decide which organization working on behalf of girls, anywhere in the world, we think most deserves a $5000 grant.

Why Trust Us

You might be asking any of the following..
Is it legit?
5 for Fairness is a non-profit California 501 (c) (3) corporation. Our EIN is 26-4433368. You can confirm our tax status on the IRS Publication 78 web site.
What happens to my $5 membership donation?
With the exception of Paypal's processing fee, your membership donation goes straight into the 5 for Fairness Grant Account. The sole purpose of that account is to fund our $5000 grants.
Is it efficient?
5 for Fairness has no paid staff.
How transparent is the organization?
Our policy is to be as transparent as possible. For example, you can find our IRS Letter of Determination right here.

What We Expect of Members

A long and expensive legal document outlining the Terms of Service for 5 for Fairness is in the works but, in the meantime, here's the take-home message:
We are on a mission here. We need your help. If you join, and we hope you do, we expect the following:
You bring your A game to the cause.
You treat every other member with respect.
You behave in a way that is worthy of the cause.
