What draws you to our cause?
The result of truly elevating our society is when we see men an women as equal. Like the wings of a bird, they are not equal the bird cannot soar. Africa Yoga Project not only works with womens prisons and Masai beaders but uses the transformative power of yoga to create unity, foster peace and elevate the phenominal youth of Nairobi many of them being the most beautiful women. What draws me to 5forfairness is the inspiring work that you do to elevate the souls of this world. I would love to join with like minds and create more funds for the programs that AYP creates.

Judy Rothman Rofe, Team leader of Equality Now has a message for you:

If you haven't voted yet, please think about the impact you can make with a vote for Equality Now. It is SHOCKING that in certain parts of the world there are no laws against rape, mutilation, incest or trafficking of child brides - Equality Now is working to actually enact and change laws!

This link will take you to the ballot, so go ahead and cast your vote!

Hi Aili,

Please check out my Team Page for an incredible organization called the Akilah Institute for Women. I am deeply inspired by the work they are doing to help educate and train young women in post-genocidal Rwanda. In a scant two years, they will graduate their first class in August 2012 with 100% placement in the workforce. The curriculum model has been so successful that they plan to expand to other developing African nations. Scholarship money is crucial to help enroll more students.   Please check out my Team page and if you like what you see, I hope you will cast your vote for Akilah!

Thank you,

Patti H

Hi Aili:
I hope you are proud of what you achieved here in this grant cycle.  It is tough to go up against an incumbent with the kind of built in support that Camp VOICE had and I think you did well.  I know it is disappointing not to win but I think Camp VOICE has shown us that the group has a sense of loyalty toward organizations that show up and try hard over multiple cycles.

Our next grant cycle will probably be in late May/early June (depends on when we get to $5000!) and I do hope you and AYP will stick around for it. I PROMISE I will set you up with an intern early and that my top priority will be getting that Team Leader Toolkit published.  If you are interested, I also have some ideas on how you might tell your story to our group - and any online group for that matter.  If you want to talk things over, feel free to give me a call on Skype at fiveforfairness or at 310-454-4230.

In the meantime, you might want to make sure your supporters stay subscribed to our newsletter - they can update their delivery preferences so they just get emails when it is time to vote - so you can count on them showing up for you again next time. More soon and GREAT JOB!  Anna

Hi Aili:
Yes, voting starts tomorrow.  A couple of housekeeping items for you, as Team leader:

1. Voting (fingers crossed) will start at 6PM PST and end on 4/23 at 6PM PST.

2. Gift memberships are much easier to give now. These are a great way to build up your Team LIKEs as well as votes. Here's the process:

a)People indicate how many gift memberships they would like to give via our gorgeous (if we do say so ourselves) new Donation page.

b)once they donate, they will be taken to a form to fill out the names and emails of their giftees

c)the giftees will receive an email with a link to a form where they can collect their gift memberships.

d)we add their emails to the voter database

e)giftees get an email with a link to the ballot.

With the exception of us adding their emails to the voter database, the process is entirely automated so it should be much, much easier this time around.

3. Anyone who has ever donated - or received a gift membership - is eligible to vote but not everyone stays on our Mail Chimp mailing list so if you know who joined last time, send them an email with a link to the ballot after voting begins.

4. Keep posting and answering questions because I will send out three newsletters to those who have not voted during the week!

Got any questions? Fire away by leaving a comment on my page.

Good luck!

Anna
