Hi AnnaB and thank you so much for donating again to help us get our grant account back to $5000. I am so grateful.  We've now given away $35,000 to 7 different organizations in 6 different countries.  We're nothing if not a work in progress, but each time we give away a grant we know we are a)supporting a terrific project b)building awareness for all the Teams c)giving all the Teams an opportunity to craft more effective story telling and d)growing our own circle of supporters dedicated to making the world fair for girls and women. And all that from an all-volunteer Team!  I think we can be pretty proud of ourselves, don't you?  Thanks so much for being part of our circle and for your extra-generous support - in ALL ways! xoxo Anna

PS I saw you wanted to give gift memberships which is wonderful. After you donated, did you get taken right to the form where you can tell us who they are for?  Just checking on the new system!!!

Thank you so much, Anna!  This last six weeks or so has been a ton of work behind-the-scenes, but I feel so much better about the donor management piece, the email newsletters, and all the connections that have to be made via the internet for this whole thing to work. Especially if we scale up which I hope we do. For a simple idea, it is actually quite complex to execute. I am beyond grateful to the 5fers like you who put up with the MESS of our initial grant cycles (so embarrassing to look back at them now!) and have stuck with us.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions, criticisms, bug reports, or ideas for how we could do things better. xoxo  Anna

PS When are you coming hiking again. We miss you and Strider. Did you hear Roxie died.  So sad...Saw a big rattlesnake yesterday. Yikes!

Thank you so much for your donation, AnnaB!  Your financial and emotional support was so immediate from the get-go and has remained so stalwart and true. I could not be more grateful for both!

Love,

Anna

Anna,

I am thrilled to see you supporting MGEF's page - thank you! We strive to improve the lives of Maasai girls in Kenya by providing an opportunity most do not have: education. The Maasai are among the poorest of the poor in East Africa, and for both cultural and economic reasons, young girls are often married off in exchange for 5 cows. Their husbands are polygamous and much older in age - two things that increase his chance of contracting HIV and passing it on to his wives. With your help, MGEF hopes to reverse this life trajectory, because we believe that when you educate a girl you educate a community...

Hi Anna,

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to help us empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Thanks so much AnnaB, for donating again!  My fondest hope is that we get to our next $5000 really quickly so we can support another one of the great Teams in this cycle!  It's been a whirlwind so far. Has Jurri voted?!?
