Hi there. I'm Eliza, one of the 5 for Fairness interns, and I want to make sure you knew that we are about to start a new voting round and decide where to send our second 5 for Fairness grant. I'm here today to ask you to join at least one Team that you think deserves a grant. The Teams that are in the running are MOSTE (Motivating Our Students Through Experience), Help the Afghan Children, Man Up, Global Fund for Women, Women's Empowerment in Uganda and Global Girl Media
In order to recapture the site's vitality and to give the newer Teams a fair chance, we hope that you will take a minute of your time and join a team today. Thank you.
Hi,
I've started a team so that the Panzi hospital can get in the running for the $5,000 grant. I hope you'll join it. Please click here There's a link to join at the top of the team page above Panzi Hospital.
Have a great weekend. Feel free to test stuff out on this site. Makes the whole process easier and we are close enough to where we want to be, and the changes so subtle, that I don't think it matters. xo
Court:
Lindsay's comments. " have two suggestions/reactions - I would make the "5 for Fairness bolder/bigger than the cups so it acts as a kind of anchor and under the cups I would definitely add "...put out a lot of teacups, you'll catch a lot of rain......"
What she means is the quote I originally had up there - "if you want to catch a lot of rain, put out a lot of teacups" Thoughts?
Link to the Ning help page on headers is here...but the take home on sizing is:
"You'll need to crop the image to fit your header background area. The width of your social network's header area is 955 pixels, so use a program like Gimp (free for Windows), Seashore (free for Mac), Photoshop or even a free Web site like Web Resizer to crop or resize the image's width to 955 pixels. We recommend a height between 100 and 175 pixels."
Hi there:
Not sure if you have any interest, but I need a little help figuring out the design and header of this site. Lindsay is doing some more teacups toput in the header - and I see using them kind of the way Google uses their logo. The cups might have numbers on them so they reflect, say, the amount of money we have raised so far, or a holiday. That way, the header becomes the one thing that can change in a playful way on the site and we'd keep the rest of the site essentially a work space. Would love your input and help but if you are too busy with your day job and your poultry farming (not to mention those sweet boys) I totally understand. If that is the case, do you know of someone who might be interested in the job at pro-bono rates who could help with the overall look but mainly create a systematic way for me to play with the images myself in some not-very-difficult-to-to-learn software. Ideally, the header would be made up of (in amateur terms) blocks that I could switch out with ease. If we always had five cups - and Lindsay is going to try hand lettering the name - then that would be six blocks we could switch around in a designated frame. Does any of this make sense? I'd ask to talk on the phone but I know how busy you are!!! Oh, I just realized, we can talk about it all when I see you! Would love any thoughts you might have...xo
