Mothers workshop

THis workshop series sounds great for so many young women with unanswered questions and fears. good for you. If there are no laptops available, I hope you will consider mounting physical blackboard/community boards where women can write or "collage" (anonymously if they prefer) about issues they are dealing with and where people can respond and give  feedback and group support 24/7. The power of council and group circles are tremendous.  I will follow the Maasai Girls Education Fund now and in…See More

What draws you to our cause?
Women are oppressed in so many cultures & environments, and I believe that if they have the tools to empower themselves to gain confidence and break barriers, fellow women will nurture and encourage each other to find happy, meaningful and productive lives. We need to share our talents and resources to help create that awareness and to build inner strength, even in the darkest hours.

Hi:
I'm Diana, a 5fer intern, and am just dropping by to say "Thank you!" for being such a loyal and active 5fer.  It is because of members like you that we have been able to give away seven (yes, seven!) $5000 grants to organizations working to make the world fair for girls and women - and we're only a few hundred dollars away from our eighth!  We are so appreciative of the way you have put up with all our many growing pains and hope you keep on believing in our circle and the good we can do.  Thanks again…

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hi Dinah,

I'm Eliza, a 5fer intern and I am here to ask you to help us get to our next $5000 grant.  We are only $1,857 away but in order to get there, we need every member to donate another $5 dollars. If we each chip in just a little, we will get there easily. To donate via Paypal, click here. Thank you for your support!

Hello Dinah! If you have a moment I was hoping you would come by and check out the team page for Orchid project. Orchid project's goal is to end the practice of female genital cutting. If you are inspired by what you see we welcome your support and would love it if you would become a member of our team!

Thanks!

Hi,

My name is Payton M, I am a 5 For Fairness intern. I’m stopping by to let you know that now is the time to support your favorite team or teams to help them advance into the voting round. Seven teams are competing for five available spots in the voting round. The five teams that make it to the voting round will have a chance to win our $5000 grant, but only one team will win. The teams need your support now to make it into the voting round.  Here's how to support a Team:

First click on the Teams tab at the top of any page to see all of the teams. Click on any team that sounds interesting to you. If you like what you see and want to become a supporter, click the +Support (Team name) button in the upper right hand corner of the Team page. You can support as many Teams as you think deserve a spot in the Voting Round. Click here for more information on how to support a Team or, if you are ready to start, click here to see all the Teams.

Thanks for supporting 5 For Fairness,

Payton M.
