Hi Emily,

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hi Emily! My name is Madi L and I am a 5 for fairness intern. I joined 5 for fairness because women are abused around the world, and each $5 we receive will help immensely. It is time to begin the next round of voting and currently we have a little below $4,000. I just wanted to tell you how important your $5 would be. I appreciate all you have done for 5 for fairness, and I hope you continue to help. To donate click here.

Hi Emily:
Love the link you posted to the Kristof piece on the Orchid Project page but you added it as a comment which makes it impossible to link to on fb and Twitter. Can you start a discussion for it here and copy and paste your comment into it. That way we can more easily share it! As soon as you do, I am going to disable the comment feature on the Team page. Thanks!

Anna

Hi and welcome to 5 for Fairness! We are very glad to have you. For starters, here's a short recap on how we do what we do.

100% of your donation just went into our collective Grant Account - it will join with the donations of other members to create our fifth 5 for Fairness Grant.

Right now, we are giving away our fourth grant and we are halfway through our 4 week "Primary". During the Primary, each of our 7 Teams (Orchid Project is one) try to build their list of supporters in order to ensure themselves a spot in our Voting Round. On June 15, the 5 Teams with the most supporters move into the Voting Round.  During the voting week, every 5fer gets one vote to cast for his or her favorite Team. The Team that gets the most votes wins our $5000 grant. We Celebrate. And then we start all over again.

I know you are here to support the Orchid Project, which is great. The first thing you'll want to do is head on over to the Orchid Project Team page and click the SUPPORT button in the upper right hand corner of the page. That will help ensure them a spot in the voting round.

If you have any friends who you can encourage to join 5 for Fairness and become supporters of Orchid Project, now's the time to do it!

Feel free to ask any questions that comes to your mind right here. If you have a question, rest assured other 5fers have it too.

Again, welcome.

Anna

PS If you want to upload a profile picture (please do!) it's a cinch to do.
