Hi Emma,

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hello Emma! If you have a moment I was hoping you would come by and check out the team page for Orchid project. Orchid project's goal is to end the practice of female genital cutting. If you are inspired by what you see we welcome your support and would love it if you would become a member of our team!

Thanks!

Hi,

My name is Payton M, I am a 5 For Fairness intern. I’m stopping by to let you know that now is the time to support your favorite team or teams to help them advance into the voting round. Seven teams are competing for five available spots in the voting round. The five teams that make it to the voting round will have a chance to win our $5000 grant, but only one team will win. The teams need your support now to make it into the voting round.  Here's how to support a Team:

First click on the Teams tab at the top of any page to see all of the teams. Click on any team that sounds interesting to you. If you like what you see and want to become a supporter, click the +Support (Team name) button in the upper right hand corner of the Team page. You can support as many Teams as you think deserve a spot in the Voting Round. Click here for more information on how to support a Team or, if you are ready to start, click here to see all the Teams.

Thanks for supporting 5 For Fairness,

Payton M.

Hey Emma,

The GEMS team is up and running and you should check it out. It's a fascinating cause that helps young  girls and women learn their value and help develop their full potential after exiting commercial sex industry.

I hope you enjoy GEMS, and if the cause interests you, your support would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Monica

What draws you to our cause?
When I read about the cause I realized how much $5 dollars from everyone can do to make a difference in someone's life. I consider myself very fortunate to have so many opportunities ahead of me and I think it is important to give back as well as encourage others to do so to create equal opportunities for all women around the world.

Friday Fairness: Pads Sudan Initiative

In Southern Sudan there are proportionally fewer girls going to school than in any other country in the world. Girls often times feel pressured to leave school in order to begin work to provide for their families. Although there are a myriad of reasons why only less than one percent of girls in South Sudan have completed primary schools, the lack of sanitary pads have contributed to this astonishing fact. A month's supply of sanitary pads costs more than a day's work of wages for working women.… Continue
