Claire Charamnac said… Hi Holly,
I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Thanks so much for your support and for joining here. Delighted to welcome you and want to acknowledge your commitment to wanting to end FGC.
Have a look at our pages and hopefully, we at Orchid will be in the top 5 (currently languishing in last place, but we'll do something about that, I hope!) and then able to be in with a good chance of getting $5k to the communities in West Africa who are leading this change.
My thanks again
Julia

5 for Fairness said… Hi and welcome to 5 for Fairness. I'm Anna, the founder. We are very glad to have you! Right now, we're in the middle of a grant cycle, which means that we have $5000 to give away to a great organization working to make the world more fair for girls. We look forward to your help figuring out which of our Teams will get it.
You might want to start by visiting the Teams page and exploring the Teams in the running. When you find one that you like, you can click the SUPPORT button in the upper right hand corner of its Team page. This will help it win a spot in the voting round - only the 5 Teams with the most supporters advance to the voting round and a chance to win our grant. At the moment, 7 Teams are vying for 5 spots so every click of the SUPPORT button counts. You can support as many Teams as you like, but when the voting starts, you will only be able to vote for one.
We have added you to our mailing list which means you will get news about all things 5 for Fairness (we don't share our email list with anyone) as well as your email link to the ballot on June 15 when the official voting begins.
If you have any questions about anything at all, feel free to leave a comment on my page or ask it here. I promise if you have a question, other 5fers (that's what we call ourselves) will have it too!
Again, welcome. We are glad to have you!
Anna
PS Just read you're reason for being drawn to our cause! Sounds like Orchid Project is for you...
To join and vote, all you need to do is donate $5 to our grant account.
