Claire Charamnac said… Hi Natalie,
I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Sophie K said… I'm Sophie, a 5fer intern, and I am just stopping by to let you know that there are only a few hours left until we move into the voting round. If you have the chance, please check out a team to support to help them advance into the voting round. You can do this by clicking SUPPORT on the upper right hand of the team page of your choice.
Only the 5 Teams with the most supporters advance to the voting round so every click of the support button counts!
Keep an eye out for the email with your link to the ballot because we'll be starting the voting soon!
Thanks.
Sophie
India W said… Hello Natalie! If you have a moment I was hoping you would come by and check out the team page for Orchid project. Orchid project's goal is to end the practice of female genital cutting. If you are inspired by what you see we welcome your support and would love it if you would become a member of our team!
Thanks!
Anna McDonnell said… Hi Natalie:
I see that you would like to start a Team for Zaanha which is great. But before we can approve the Team, we need to see proof of their nonprofit status as we can only have Teams that are 501(c)(3)s or their equivalent in foreign countries. Could you send me a pdf with proof of their non-profit status? You can send it to anna@5forFairness.org Thanks so much! Anna
5 for Fairness said… Hi Natalie and welcome to 5 for Fairness! I'm Anna, the founder.
Right now, we are in the middle of a grant cycle which means we will soon be voting to decide the winner of our next $5000 grant. There are 7 Teams vying for only 5 spots in the voting round and a chance to win the grant. The 5 Teams with the most supporters (members who have clicked the SUPPORT button on their Team page) move into the voting round. Each member can SUPPORT as many Teams as they think deserve to make it into the voting round, but once the voting starts every 5fer (that's what we call ourselves) gets one vote to cast for his or her favorite Team. The Team that gets the most votes wins our $5000 grant. We Celebrate. And then we start all over again.
So, you might want to head on over to the Teams page and explore the Teams in the running. If you think any deserve a spot on the voting round, click the SUPPORT button in the upper right hand corner of their Team page.
Feel free to ask any questions that come to your mind right here. If you have a question, rest assured other 5fers have it too.
Again, welcome!
Anna
PS If you want to upload a profile picture (please do!) it's a cinch to do.
To join and vote, all you need to do is donate $5 to our grant account.
