The Akilah Institute

This is a really unique organization. It's the first two-year college for women in Rwanda and it just opened this year in February. Their first class has 50 students, many of whom had parents killed in the genocide of 1994. 1/3 of the students are the head of their households and "86% of them have held leadership positions". Hi:
I'm Diana, a 5fer intern, and am just dropping by to say "Thank you!" for being such a loyal and active 5fer.  It is because of members like you that we have been able to give away seven (yes, seven!) $5000 grants to organizations working to make the world fair for girls and women - and we're only a few hundred dollars away from our eighth!  We are so appreciative of the way you have put up with all our many growing pains and hope you keep on believing in our circle and the good we can do.  Thanks again…
