Hi:
I'm Payton M, a 5fer intern, and am just dropping by to say "Thank you!" for being such a loyal and active 5fer.  It is because of members like you that we have been able to give away seven (yes, seven!) $5000 grants to organizations working to make the world fair for girls and women - and we're only a few hundred dollars away from our eighth!  We are so appreciative of the way you have put up with all our many growing pains and hope you keep on believing in our circle and the good we can do.  Thanks again…

As soon as the dust settles, let's talk again about things you can do between the grant cycles to build and consolidate support for Akilah.  Anna

Hi Patti:
I hope you are proud of what you achieved here in this grant cycle!  It is tough to go up against an incumbent with the kind of built in support that Camp VOICE had and I think you and Akilah did amazingly well.  Our next grant cycle will probably be in late May/early June (depends on when we get to $5000!) and I do hope you and Akilah will stick around for it. I PROMISE I will set you up with an intern early and that my top priority will be getting that Team Leader Toolkit published.  If you want to talk things over, feel free to give me a call at 310-454-4230.  In the meantime, you might want to make sure your supporters stay subscribed to our newsletter - they can update their delivery preferences so they just get emails when it is time to vote - so you can count on them showing up for you again next time. More soon and GREAT JOB!  Anna

Hi Patti:
Yes, voting starts tomorrow.  A couple of housekeeping items for you, as Team leader:

1. Voting (fingers crossed) will start at 6PM PST and end on 4/23 at 6PM PST.

2. Gift memberships are much easier to give now. These are a great way to build up your Team LIKEs as well as votes. Here's the process:

a)People indicate how many gift memberships they would like to give via our gorgeous (if we do say so ourselves) new Donation page.

b)once they donate, they will be taken to a form to fill out the names and emails of their giftees

c)the giftees will receive an email with a link to a form where they can collect their gift memberships.

d)we add their emails to the voter database

e)giftees get an email with a link to the ballot.

With the exception of us adding their emails to the voter database, the process is entirely automated so it should be much, much easier this time around.

3. Anyone who has ever donated - or received a gift membership - is eligible to vote but not everyone stays on our Mail Chimp mailing list so if you know who joined last time, send them an email with a link to the ballot after voting begins.

4. Keep posting and answering questions because I will send out three newsletters to those who have not voted during the week!

Got any questions? Fire away by leaving a comment on my page.

Good luck!

Anna

Hi Patti:
We should be ready to start our grant cycle on Monday, April 2. We'll have two weeks of storytelling, then begin voting week on April 16, end voting on April 23 and announce the winner on April 24.  Will get you an intern early this week.

We have a new Donate & Gift Membership page which I hope will make donating and giving gift memberships much simpler.  Would love to know your thoughts on the way it is layed out.

More soon!

HI there:
Here's that comment I told you about from Sasha.  "

Patti

Thank you do much for your response. Obviously we travel in the same rock solid circle because I am very well acquainted with Elizabeth and her work. As a matter of fact my daughter will be interning with them this summer.

With gratitude

Sasha"

Hi Patti,

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hi Patti,

I'm Eliza, a 5fer intern and I am here to ask you to help us get to our next $5000 grant.  We are only $1,857 away but in order to get there, we need every member to donate another $5 dollars. If we each chip in just a little, we will get there easily. To donate via Paypal, click here. Thank you for your support!

Hello Patti! If you have a moment I was hoping you would come by and check out the team page for Orchid project. Orchid project's goal is to end the practice of female genital cutting. If you are inspired by what you see we welcome your support and would love it if you would become a member of our team!

Thanks!
