Interview with Super Volunteer: Susie Murphy

How did you become involved with Camp VOICE? My daughter, Kiera Murphy, just finished studying abroad in India. She was in Hyderabad from January until May, 2012.  She met Averil Spencer (Camp Manager) during her first few days in Hyderabad, just by chance.  It was fate that they should get together. As soon as Kiera heard of the mission of Camp Voice, she fit right in and they offered her an internship.  I started following their work and kept up on what Kiera was doing over there.  What was…See More

Hi:
I'm Payton M, a 5fer intern, and am just dropping by to say "Thank you!" for being such a loyal and active 5fer.  It is because of members like you that we have been able to give away seven (yes, seven!) $5000 grants to organizations working to make the world fair for girls and women - and we're only a few hundred dollars away from our eighth!  We are so appreciative of the way you have put up with all our many growing pains and hope you keep on believing in our circle and the good we can do.  Thanks again…

Hi Sophie,

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Our organization strongly believes that building young women's confidence and skills is key to empowerment. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Hi Sophie! My name is Madi L and I am a 5 for fairness intern. I joined 5 for fairness because women are abused around the world, and each $5 we receive will help immensely. It is time to begin the next round of voting and currently we have a little below $4,000. I just wanted to tell you how important your $5 would be. I appreciate all you have done for 5 for fairness, and I hope you continue to help. To donate click here.
