Perhaps the best thing is the huge increase in membership through this round...which puts the membership in a position to create a grant cycle with just one $10 donation from each member. The bad thing...not everyone has made that donation yet...I…

Hi Tom, Becky, and Rachel,

I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities! Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Tom, thank you so much, again, for being such a stalwart member of the 5 for Fairness circle.  I am so appreciative of your support - and your donation to our next (our 6th) $5000 grant.  I feel as if we are finally getting the system streamlined and simplified and hope that it just gets easier, more fun and more meaningful for 5fers to participate every time we give another $5000 away. Thanks for being such a fan from the get-go! xoxo Anna

Because of your past support of The Global Fund For Women, which has not been active in this grant cycle, I am writing to ask if you would consider sharing your support with The Orchid Project.  The Orchid Projects sole aim is to end the practice of female genital cutting.

As a woman and a mother I feel compelled to do my part to end the human rights violation that three million girls suffer each year as their genitals are cut without permission or anastasia.

The Orchid Project works to end FGC by respectfully raising awareness of FCG, connecting individuals and local, national, and international organizations, and advocacy.

I know Orchid would be so grateful for your support and that this $5,000 would mean a lot to their work. Please consider supporting them to get through to the next round.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for your consideration,

Holly

Hi,

My name is Payton M, I am a 5 For Fairness intern. I’m stopping by to let you know that now is the time to support your favorite team or teams to help them advance into the voting round. Seven teams are competing for five available spots in the voting round. The five teams that make it to the voting round will have a chance to win our $5000 grant, but only one team will win. The teams need your support now to make it into the voting round.  Here's how to support a Team:

First click on the Teams tab at the top of any page to see all of the teams. Click on any team that sounds interesting to you. If you like what you see and want to become a supporter, click the +Support (Team name) button in the upper right hand corner of the Team page. You can support as many Teams as you think deserve a spot in the Voting Round. Click here for more information on how to support a Team or, if you are ready to start, click here to see all the Teams.

Thanks for supporting 5 For Fairness,

Payton M.

It'll be a bit longer than usual - 7 weeks - so we can bring in some new teams and get the new voting system set up and ready to go but I am so excited that it won't be long until we give away money again!  Thank you, as always, for being such an amazing supporter of, and believer in, this project.xo

PS On a completely different note, I am looking for an old, gorgeous cutting board that I can hang on a wall. Preferably round with handle and hole for hanging.  Got anything like that hanging around and if not, will you keep an eye out? Thanks!
