Claire Charamnac said… Hi Amy,
Thank you! That sounds like a great trip!
Yes, the issues are very similar for women: child marriage, low literacy rates, poverty. That's why we work with our age group: 15 to 18 is a critical time when many young women's paths are directed out of school and towards marriage. As in India, there are more and more political opportunities for women, so there are a lot of positive reforms underway.
I'd love to hear more about your trip to India and your background!

Claire Charamnac said… Hi Amy,
I’m the co-founder of Women LEAD, one of the teams competing for the grant this month. I’d love your support to empower more than 200 young women in Nepal to become leaders in their schools and communities. Your vote would help us build the capacity of future female leaders to tackle the root causes of poverty and discrimination. Please check out our page and website to see the work that we do and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Hi Amy,
Thanks so much for supporting Equality Now! We need your support now more than ever. Don't forget to vote!
Eliza B. said… Hi Amy,
I'm Eliza, a 5fer intern and I am here to ask you to help us get to our next $5000 grant. We are only $1,857 away but in order to get there, we need every member to donate another $5 dollars. If we each chip in just a little, we will get there easily. To donate via Paypal, click here. Thank you for your support!
India W said… Hello Amy! If you have a moment I was hoping you would come by and check out the team page for Orchid project. Orchid project's goal is to end the practice of female genital cutting. If you are inspired by what you see we welcome your support and would love it if you would become a member of our team!
Thanks!
Payton M said… Hi,
My name is Payton M, I am a 5 For Fairness intern. I’m stopping by to let you know that now is the time to support your favorite team or teams to help them advance into the voting round. Seven teams are competing for five available spots in the voting round. The five teams that make it to the voting round will have a chance to win our $5000 grant, but only one team will win. The teams need your support now to make it into the voting round. Here's how to support a Team:
First click on the Teams tab at the top of any page to see all of the teams. Click on any team that sounds interesting to you. If you like what you see and want to become a supporter, click the +Support (Team name) button in the upper right hand corner of the Team page. You can support as many Teams as you think deserve a spot in the Voting Round. Click here for more information on how to support a Team or, if you are ready to start, click here to see all the Teams.
Thanks for supporting 5 For Fairness,
Payton M.
